Position Title Physician - Addiction Specialist UKH Olathe Pavilion Main Campus

Position Summary / Career Interest: The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an Addiction Specialist who will support the departmental mission of delivering the highest quality of care, providing consultative and liaison services, as well as satisfying teaching, research, and academic responsibilities at the region's quaternary referral center. This position represents a pivotal role within our organization, tasked with driving forward educational, research, and clinical initiatives to advance our division's mission. Working closely with the Opioid Treatment Services Medical Director, you will provide expert guidance and leadership to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care services. A key aspect of this role involves extensive collaboration across the organization to foster educational programs, coordinate research efforts, secure grants, and promote the dissemination of findings through publications and presentations at national forums. Active participation in departmental activities, faculty meetings, hospital committees, and ongoing educational opportunities is expected to ensure alignment with organizational goals and continuous professional development. Additionally, this role includes participation in weekend call rotations and a commitment to continuous performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes. Encouragement and support for scholarly and research activities aligned with your clinical and teaching interests will be provided, contributing to the broader mission and goals of the Department. Required Qualifications:
  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited residency program
  • ABPN board certification/board eligibility in General Psychiatry preferred. Will also consider applicants with ASAM board certification/board eligibility
  • Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri
  • Addictions experience required
  • This full-time position will secure a faculty appointment with rank commensurate with the applicant's experience
