Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Nurse Intern to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Nurse Intern, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing direct patient care and supporting the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe and effective patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans
  • Administer medication and perform various tests and procedures as needed
  • Assist with emergency measures and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients and families
  • Participate in educational programs and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in a nursing program and good standing
  • Basic Nursing Skills Course completion
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a clinical setting, with potential exposure to biohazardous materials and chemicals. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
