Indiana University Health Physicians, in partnership with Indiana University School of Medicine, is seeking a Spine Neurosurgeon to enhance our academic division in Indianapolis, Indiana. This faculty role necessitates proficiency in all facets of spinal surgery, particularly with a focus on peripheral nerve management and treatment, including complex instrumented fusion and motion-preservation methodologies. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in minimally invasive techniques, lateral approaches to the spine, robotic-assisted surgery, and/or adult/pediatric deformity correction.

Position Highlights:

  • Collaborative care approach involving Advanced Practice Providers, therapists, triage nurses, and multidisciplinary teams including pain management specialists, physiatrists, and orthopedic spine surgeons.
  • Access to suburban clinic locations as necessary to support the practice.
  • Research interests will be supported with start-up funding for qualified candidates.
  • Engagement in outcomes registries with opportunities and resources for outcomes research.
  • Participate in a call rotation with adult Neurosurgeons, typically 4-5 days per month.
  • Outpatient clinic responsibilities at designated facilities.
  • Educational responsibilities include teaching residents and fellows in a CAST-approved enfolded spinal fellowship.
  • Support the IU Neuroscience Institute, including the Center for Spinal Disorders.
  • Numerous opportunities for innovation in clinical care delivery, education, and research, particularly in outcomes research for spinal care.
  • Leadership roles available for interested and qualified individuals in education and quality initiatives.
  • Access to medical editing, illustration, communication support, and collaborative mentoring across departments.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Neurosurgery residency in an ACGME-accredited program.
  • Desirable but not mandatory: Enfolded or post-graduate spinal surgery fellowship depending on experience and qualifications.
  • ABNS Board Eligible/Board Certified.
