**Job Responsibilities**

The Perinatal Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing, promoting, supporting, and overseeing perinatal patient safety and quality of care initiatives and programs across designated facilities. Key responsibilities include:

* Ensuring all care providers adhere to national clinical standards and principles of safety
* Serving as a patient safety advocate and clinical role model in perinatal nursing and obstetrics
* Implementing and supporting patient safety and quality of care initiatives
* Monitoring clinical outcomes
* Facilitating interdisciplinary communication and education

**Qualifications**

* State of Oregon RN License
* American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers within 30 days of hire
* NRP within 90 days of hire
* Certification in one of the following: C-ONQS, CCRN-NEO, C-EFM, RN-BC, MCN, RN-BC-PERI, RNC [OB, GYN, NEONATAL], RNC-LRN, RNC-MNN, RNC-NIC, RNC-OB, C-EFM
* 5 years of experience as a clinician in Women's services
* Experience with quality improvement/process improvement techniques and project/program management experience
* 2 years of project experience in Women and Infants perinatal safety preferred
* BSN degree
* MSN degree preferred
