Job Summary

Focused Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed School Psychologist to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our educational team, you will work closely with students, families, and school staff to identify and address learning and behavioral barriers that impede a child's ability to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer a range of assessments to measure students' intellectual, adaptive, academic, social, and emotional development, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assess students' functional capabilities to determine their functional level and develop recommendations for placement.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other personnel to evaluate situations, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
  • Compile information from various sources to produce comprehensive evaluation reports in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide requested information, develop plans for services, and make recommendations.
  • Counsel students, parents, and guardians to enhance student success in school.
  • Develop behavior plans, curriculum modifications, and other interventions to implement treatment programs.
  • Intervene during school-level or organizational-level crises to restore psychological well-being.
  • Intervene in occurrences of inappropriate student behavior to assist students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills.
  • Participate in meetings as assigned, such as IEPs, workshops, and seminars, to convey and gather information required to perform functions.
  • Prepare a wide range of written materials, including extension requests, correspondence, memos, behavior plans, reports, and required documentation.
  • Prepare, implement, and perform social skills groups to enhance social integration of students.
  • Research resources and methods to determine the appropriate approach for addressing students' functional goals.
  • Coordinate with community agencies, including medical, judicial, social service, and mental health services, to determine appropriate treatments and meet the needs of specific students.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Supervise interns, practicum students, and others to monitor performance, provide professional growth, and achieve overall objectives of the school's curriculum.
Requirements
  • PA Instructional Certificate School Psychologist PK-12
  • Out-of-state educators and anyone seeking an emergency certificate should review the guidelines set by the PA Department of Education.
  • Master's Degree MA required in an appropriate major study
  • Knowledge of certification area
  • Current PA Criminal History background check
  • Current Federal Criminal background check
  • Current Child Abuse background check
