Job Overview

The Tavern Kitchen & Bar is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for our restaurant guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety by inspecting and cleaning food preparation areas, equipment, and work surfaces.
  • Rotate stock and check for freshness to ensure the quality of food and ingredients.
  • Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature.
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
  • Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
  • Respond to guest feedback with professionalism and urgency.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a restaurant cook is preferred.
  • ServeSafe or Food Handler's certification is required.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs and work standing for 8+ hours is required.
