Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Class A Driver to join our team at VSS International, Inc. as a Spreader Truck Driver. This role involves operating a tank mounted straight truck while pulling a trailer, spreading asphalt products such as emulsions, and performing labor and preventative maintenance on equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure hand tools are loaded and tar paper is in place.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections, including checking the truck's cleanliness, lubrication, oil leaks, and brake adjustments.
  • Ensure equipment is in good condition to perform duties.
  • Maintain adequate fuel levels in the truck by filling tanks the previous evening.
  • Maintain Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) as required by law.
  • Maintain proper fuel levels in equipment and tire pressure.
  • Responsible for timely collection and submission of time records.
  • Have thorough knowledge of all paperwork requirements.
Requirements
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal and external drivers and customers.
  • CDL license with Tanker & HazMat endorsement.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work, and a strong commitment to company goals.
  • Ability to function under fast-paced, stressful working conditions.
  • Prior pavement preservation experience is helpful.
  • Valid Class A driver's license in good standing.
