Role Summary

We're looking for a skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to optimize our Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) processes. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with product design, virtual engineering, equipment, and integration teams to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct DFMA studies to provide design feedback and optimize part, assembly, and system-level designs
  • Lead static and kinematic studies to simulate assembly and equipment interactions
  • Drive content reduction, assembly simplification, and build-in-quality initiatives
  • Lead PFMEA, build sequence, and process layout development, and host new product virtual builds with cross-functional teams
  • Support prototype and design validation builds, including design and delivery of proto manufacturing tooling, bill of process preparation, and manufacturing trials
  • Support manufacturing validation builds at Rivian's manufacturing plants, working closely with factory integration and equipment teams
  • Actively engage in value engineering, challenging assumptions and breaking the status quo
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering role related to DFMA, product optimization, manufacturing process, or equipment development
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering principles, including OEE, cycle time analysis, DVA, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, ergonomics, DOE, quality control, equipment selection, return on investment, error proofing, supply chain, and logistics
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using first principles, challenge assumptions, and be biased towards action
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working within 2D & 3D CAD environments and various engineering tools
Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California-Based Applicants: $107,000-$134,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)
