Principal Systems Administrator/Designer

At Raytheon Careers, we're seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Administrator/Designer to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to determine system requirements, specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of Information Systems.
  • Provide leadership to support a range of administrative tasking, including corrective/preventive maintenance, recurring operations functions, and system optimization.
  • Coordinate technical and process document reviews and resolve system administration, engineering, and integration issues.
  • Provide IT systems administration/design support in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Develop and coordinate IT technology strategies, roadmaps, and reference architectures.
  • Perform technology evaluations, develop proof-of-concepts, and look for opportunities to introduce advanced Information Technologies into solutions and products.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of direct experience or a master's degree and 5 years of direct experience.
  • Experience in developing systems designs and deployment.
  • ~8+ years' experience providing technical solutions for IT systems.
  • Experience with infrastructure technologies such as server operating systems, server hardware, compute, storage, networks, virtualization, encryption, and security.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance prior to the start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows, Red Hat, Ansible, VMware, Containerization, and Netapp Storage devices.
  • The ability to clearly articulate ideas, process steps, and technical data in written, graphical, and spoken dialogue.
