As a member of our team at Sisters of St. Francis, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities. We are seeking a highly skilled Institutional Housekeeper to join our team and contribute to our mission of serving the community through various initiatives.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field is preferred, but not required. Essential Functions:
  • Clean public areas in the school, convent, Center of Renewal, and/or Health Center
  • Clean private living areas (including bedrooms, bathrooms, showers, and kitchens) in the convent, Health Center, Center of Renewal, and Ormsby Hall
  • Operate all machines located within the laundry, including washing machines, wringers, dryers, and irons
  • Perform all tasks assigned, including taking orders and executing them in a timely and professional manner


Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and intermittently requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and transporting of equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Operating industrial scrubbers, buffers, and shampooers, using a repetitive push and pull motion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
