Bus Monitor Role at STA of Pennsylvania, Inc.Job Summary

The Bus Monitor is a vital member of our team at STA of Pennsylvania, Inc., responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation. This role involves working under the direction of a bus driver to maintain a secure and respectful environment on the bus.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor students to ensure proper conduct and adherence to safe behavior standards during bus trips

• Maintain accurate attendance and ridership records, as well as assign seating to promote good student behavior

• Collaborate with drivers to learn established bus routes and provide assistance when necessary

• Assist with verifying route turn sheets and noting any changes for future reference

• Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with drivers, district personnel, students, and parents

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions

• Verbal communication skills to interact effectively with students, drivers, and other stakeholders

• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and exposure to moderate noise levels

• Reliable attendance and ability to pass required background checks

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; valid driver's license with a clean driving history preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting, as well as operating vehicle controls
