Job Summary

Nino's LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, bathrooms, and other high-touch areas using established protocols and procedures.
  • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, sweep, mop, or vacuum floors, and empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
  • Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, and other activities.
  • Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
  • Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, vacuums, brooms, mops, and other equipment.
  • Lock and unlock assigned buildings, secure building when facilities are not in use, and check for unlocked doors and windows.
  • Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
  • Perform cleaning and related activities, such as removing debris from sidewalks and stairs.
  • Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis.
  • Wash accessible interior and exterior windows, clean blinds, and launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
  • Maintain green areas, mowed and well-groomed.
  • Support the efforts of Head Start families in the enhancement of their children's healthy wellbeing and academic success.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor relative to program operations.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have no criminal record or criminal charges pending.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with liability insurance.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Must have a clear TB and physical examination before first day of employment.
  • Must have some basic understanding or experience in conducting minor maintenance and repair work as well as general custodial work.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Have a High School Diploma.
    • Be Bilingual, able or willing to learn to speak, read, and write English and Spanish.
    • Be a local resident of Cameron or Willacy County.
    • Be a person sensitive to the needs of the poor and disadvantaged.
Working Conditions

This position requires working on weekends, holidays, and/or evenings on special assigned projects and/or tasks on request of the Executive/Head Start Director.
