Job Summary

This position serves as a Physician (Obstetrics and Gynecology) located in the Women's Clinic, providing direct medical services to inpatients and outpatients. The position reports to the Clinical Director and is open until filled.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct medical services, including diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic services for Obstetrics and Gynecological patients.
  • Follow patients during prenatal care, perform deliveries, and provide post-partum follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families with multiple health problems and diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
  • Selectee may be subject to a probationary/trial period.
  • Must possess and maintain a current valid unrestricted medical license.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
Additional Requirements
  • Measles and Rubella immunization is required for selectees born after 1957.
  • Seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service healthcare facilities.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is required for all selectees prior to entrance on duty.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. For positions requiring positive education requirements, you must submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S)

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the degree requirement for a physician position. You must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body.

Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, all candidates must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-15: At least 5 years of equivalent experience in the specialty of the position to be filled.

OR completed 5 years of graduate training (internship, residency or fellowship program) in the specialty of the position to be filled.

OR combination of experience and equivalent graduate training (internship, residency, or fellowship program) in the specialty of the position to be filled that when combined total at least 5 years.
