Job Summary

Penn State Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care in our Critical Care Units at Holy Spirit Medical Center and Hampden Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in the medical care and management of patients, performing functions such as making rounds, physical examinations, and providing in-house, round-the-clock coverage.
  • Coordinate, provide, and manage the care of critically ill patients, including performing arterial lines, central lines, and vent management.
  • Work in collaboration with attending physicians, fellows, residents, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide specialty care to critically ill patients.
  • Rotate between Hampden Medical Center and Holy Spirit Medical Center, including weekends and rotating holidays.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • National Certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • Relevant experience preferred, with knowledge of appropriate critical care, including ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support) Certification.
