Critical Care Nurse

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Nurse to join our team. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Your expertise will be crucial in assessing, diagnosing, and intervening in actual or potential health problems, as well as evaluating patient responses to care.
Responsibilities:- Provide safe, competent, and quality care to patients in the ICU, based on nursing theory and research.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, in collaboration with the healthcare team, to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs, medications, and treatments, as well as identify and report any changes or concerns.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care and coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in critical care nursing, with a focus on ICU care.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
