Purpose of the Role: The CNC Operator Specialist is responsible for crafting precision components by programming, configuring, and managing CNC machinery while maintaining adherence to quality and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and program CNC machinery
- Create necessary tooling and fixtures
- Conduct file management
- Perform First Article Inspection, including molds and segment evaluations as needed
- Input SPC jobs into the system
- Gather SPC data electronically
- Finalize and document job processes
- Transfer programs to and from the main computer
- Complete daily documentation
- Execute set-up using provided tools
- Conduct thorough inspections of components
- Accurately complete dimensional inspection reports
- Operate CNC machinery efficiently to meet productivity benchmarks
- Interpret blueprints
- Timely document labor reports, job travelers, and other daily records
- Cross-train in various functions as required
- Maintain cleanliness of workspaces
- Follow both verbal and written directives
- Comply with 5S Standards
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including attendance and safety standards
Additional Responsibilities:
- Other tasks as dictated by the operational needs of the Machine Shop

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer proficiency required
- At least 5 years of CNC experience
- Proficient in programming with Mastercam Mill or Okuma Lathe
- Familiarity with Okuma lathes or HAAS 5-axis milling machines and Daewoo/Fanuc Control
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
- Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints
- Knowledge of basic measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and comparators
- Fluent in English (reading, speaking, writing, and comprehension)
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)
Physical Requirements:
- While performing job duties, the employee is expected to:
- Regularly stand, walk, and reach with both hands and arms
- Engage in repetitive motions
- Regularly lift items weighing over 10 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment: The position is situated in a Machine Shop setting with moderate to high noise levels.
Note: This role requires compliance with ITAR definitions (US Citizen or Permanent Resident). The position may involve exposure to information subject to US export control regulations.
