Technical Editor

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Technical Editor to join our team at STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS (SSP). As a Technical Editor, you will be responsible for reviewing and editing technical materials, including reports, articles, news releases, and periodicals. Your attention to detail and strong writing skills will ensure that the content is accurate, clear, and concise.

The ideal candidate will have experience in editing technical documents and possess strong knowledge of writing specifications, techniques, requirements, and publication preparation processes. You will also be able to recognize that technical publications are written clearly and logically. Additionally, you will offer recommendations to material after discussions with the authors for making changes in charts, graphs, or illustrations already included in the reports.

You will work closely with engineers and scientists to review reports detailing the results of test and evaluation projects to make sure material is accurate and functional.

As a Technical Editor, you will examine manuals used for training as well as for operation and maintenance purposes. You will also examine technical material for conformance to correct style requirements and the agency's publication standards.
