Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Russian language courses at Durham Technical Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of the Foreign Languages Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Russian language courses, including grammar, reading, writing, and conversation
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations
  • Maintain accurate student records and submit grades in a timely manner
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and programs
  • Stay current with developments in the field of Russian language and culture
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Russian or a closely related field
  • Master's degree in Russian or a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Russian preferred
  • Successful experience teaching Russian language courses at a university or community college
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Russian or a related field
  • Experience with instructional technology and online learning platforms
  • Ability to teach a variety of Russian language courses, including beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels
