Join the City of New York's team as an Environmental Planner, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the execution of environmental reviews for all A&CM projects. This position requires a strong understanding of environmental regulations and a passion for sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and participate in the preparation of EAS, EAF, EIS, and similar environmental review documentation for multiple real estate transactions and other departmental initiatives.
- Administer the CEQR, SEQRA, and NEPA processes.
- Assist with onboarding of other environmental professional services as needed for capital projects.
- Consult and coordinate with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Serve as the NYCHA liaison for inter-agency environmental collaborations.
- Support the Agency's environmental response activities as required.
- Establish project timelines and assure projects are completed on schedule.
- Draft and review requests for proposals.
- Present analyses to the NYCHA Executive Team, inter-agency partners, elected officials, residents, stakeholders, and colleagues.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the development, appraisal, financing, negotiation, or disposition of real estate, or in real estate law, or in urban planning or analytical or coordination work related to housing programs.
- Or a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and seven years of full-time satisfactory experience as described above.
- Or a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above.
