The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for multiple PART-TIME roles in the educational sector. Successful applicants will engage in classroom evaluations within elementary and middle schools participating in research initiatives. The anticipated workload will range from 16 to 24 hours weekly, with variability based on school schedules and project requirements. The positions will span approximately 8 to 12 weeks, commencing with essential training and certification.
Responsibilities include gathering data in classrooms utilizing established observational frameworks. Candidates will be trained in the ASSIST (Assessing School Settings: Interactions of Students and Teachers) and CARES (Culturally and Racial Equity Sustaining Classroom Assessment System) methodologies. Upon employment, individuals will complete necessary certifications to ensure readiness for classroom evaluations. Compensation will be provided for training time.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-classroom observations using provided digital tools. Collaborate with educational staff to schedule observations. Collect and analyze observational data effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
Some college experience is required. Reliable transportation for travel between schools is essential. Availability to work a minimum of 8 hours weekly during standard school hours. Proficiency in basic technology troubleshooting, particularly with tablets. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously. Capacity to engage effectively with diverse populations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Compensation: $16.00 per hour.
This position is classified as a wage role, not eligible for benefits, and is limited to 1500 hours of work annually.
