LGBTQIA+ Program Development Manager

Program Overview:
Resource Center's Empowerment Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the success of our programs, which aim to empower and serve LGBTQIA+ communities of color, particularly engaging Black and Brown communities.
As an Empowerment Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading assigned programs, ensuring they align with our program model and core elements. This includes developing and executing outreach strategies, recruiting and training volunteers, and working with the SEC to align outreach efforts with program goals.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience in community outreach, advocacy, and event coordination, as well as strong organizational and problem-solving skills. They will be able to create social media and event materials using Canva or similar tools and have knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention and issues affecting LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to engage prioritized LGBTQIA+ individuals
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support program activities and events
- Work with the SEC to align outreach efforts with program goals and share resources
- Lead event planning, including social gatherings, workshops, and health education activities, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity
- Collaborate with team members to assist with event logistics and execution
Requirements:
- Degree in social work, public health, community engagement, or a related field preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish to ensure broader accessibility and engagement
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage and support LGBTQIA+ communities
- Experience in community outreach, advocacy, and event coordination
- Ability to create social media and event materials using Canva or similar tools
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention and issues affecting LGBTQIA+ individuals, cultural sensitivity, and experience working various ethnic, racial, and gender backgrounds
Compensation:
$60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience
