Unit Information
Department: Telemetry | RN
- Unit: Telemetry Nampa Hospital Flr 1
- Bed Capacity: 24
- Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:04
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Common Diagnoses: Heart Failure, COPD, Sepsis, AFIB, PNA, Stroke, detox, suicidal holds
- Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year experience; first-time travelers are welcome. Must be a collaborative team player.
- Titration of Drips: Not required
- Common Drips: Set drop rate medications including Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Lidocaine.
- Charge Nurse Role: Charge nurse does not take patients; an Administrative Supervisor is available 24/7.
- Support Staff: CNAs available at a 1:8 ratio, with 3 CNAs if the unit is at full capacity.
- Respiratory Equipment: Cpap, Bipap (patients on Bipap for more than 4 hours will be transferred to ICU), High Flow.
- Telemetry Support: Tele Techs are present; RNs must sign off on their strips.
- Shift Scheduling: 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, scheduled by the unit scheduler. Shifts can be blocked or grouped.
- Weekend Requirements: As needed, typically every other weekend, but may require additional coverage.
- Holiday Requirements: As needed.
- Call or Standby: Not required.
- Floating Requirements: May float to MedSurg or other facilities as needed.
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs as long as they are clean and professional.
- Orientation: 1-2 days of unit/department specific orientation.
- Additional Notes: The Nampa Tele staff utilizes a team nursing model. If the unit is full, there will be a charge nurse with 7 RNs on the floor, 2 of whom will be leads with 1-2 patients to assist other RNs with medication passes and care.
Note: This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. Candidates' permanent addresses will be required to confirm they are outside of this specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.
