Position Overview:
The Electrophysiology Lab at ChristianaCare is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing essential procedural support and patient education for individuals undergoing cardiac interventions.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule, specifically Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5:30 PM. There are no weekend or on-call requirements.
About the Electrophysiology Lab:
Our facility is recognized as one of the most advanced electrophysiology suites in the Mid-Atlantic region, equipped with cutting-edge stereotaxis technology for the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. This state-of-the-art technology is utilized by only a small percentage of hospitals across the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the circulator for pre- and post-procedural activities, ensuring seamless RN to RN handoffs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories, identifying allergies, and verifying necessary medications.
- Assist in electrophysiology procedures, including the insertion of pacemakers and internal cardioverter defibrillators, as well as conducting studies and ablations.
- Manage equipment setup, connectivity, and troubleshooting, while monitoring and performing measurements on the intracardiac recording system.
Qualifications:
- A valid RN license in Delaware or from a compact state.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of RN experience is required, with a preference for candidates with experience in Electrophysiology or similar procedural settings.
- Proficiency in EKG and telemetry is essential.
- BLS certification is mandatory, while ACLS certification is preferred and must be obtained within one year of employment.
