High Acuity Surgeon

As a highly skilled Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Specialist, you will be part of our dynamic Division of Acute Care Surgery team at Atrium Health-Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care, including thorough history and physical assessments, evaluating and managing co-morbid medical conditions secondary to critical illness or injury.
- Manage ventilator settings, vasopressors, and solve complex clinical cases, performing surgical procedures after privileging by Medical Staff, including Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Lines, Bronchoscopy, and assisting with bedside Tracheostomy and Percutaneous Gastrostomy Tube placement.
- Rotational shifts and assignments cross-covering between Surgical Critical Care and Trauma service lines, with opportunities for teaching and professional growth.
To succeed in this role, you must have a strong background in Advanced Practice and experience working in high-acuity settings. You should possess excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Certifications- Masters Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required for Nurse Practitioners, with Acute Care board certification based upon population and acuity served.
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required, with Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities.
