Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for children facing complex health challenges, disabilities, and chronic conditions. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, you will deliver acute inpatient care to children from infancy through young adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize advanced clinical knowledge and skills in pediatrics to fulfill the role of an Advanced Practice Nurse for a specific inpatient population, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.
- Execute delegated medical duties as outlined in established protocols and collaborative agreements sanctioned by medical and nursing leadership.
- Conduct thorough documentation and billing for assigned patients in collaboration with attending physicians.
Clinical Competence:
- Exhibit advanced nursing judgment and proficiency in evidence-based practices throughout the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation phases of patient care. Continuously monitor clinical outcomes to enhance patient care quality.
- Effectively communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members, ensuring continuity of care and providing essential education to patients and their families.
- Support the professional development of nursing staff by offering continuing education opportunities in specialized clinical areas. Mentor new practitioners and nursing students in their professional roles.
- Serve as a community resource in your areas of expertise, interpreting scientific information through formal and informal educational initiatives.
- Demonstrate research competency by interpreting and sharing research findings with nursing staff to advance clinical practice.
Patient Care:
- Establish diagnoses for common acute and chronic health conditions.
- Consult with or refer patients to licensed physicians or other healthcare providers as necessary.
- Ensure all clinical findings are documented accurately and comprehensively in the electronic medical records system, with all entries dated and signed promptly.
Qualifications:
- Training as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is required.
- Experience in pediatrics is preferred.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
