Position: Folic Acid Program Outreach Intern
Location: Remote and In-Person Opportunities Available
Position Overview:
The Folic Acid Program Outreach Intern will engage with our team for a minimum of 20 weeks, dedicating 16-20 hours per week. This role is ideal for students seeking practical experience in public health and nutrition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach to both new and existing partners to promote the Power Me A2Z folic acid initiative and its resources.
- Utilize various communication methods, including phone calls, emails, and in-person visits, to engage stakeholders.
- Participate in health fairs and conferences to represent the program.
- Maintain detailed records of outreach activities and their outcomes.
- Receive mentorship from the program manager and the Emerging Nutrition Initiatives team.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree with a strong academic record (minimum GPA of 3.0).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to initiate contact with partners.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Willingness to conduct occasional site visits to outreach partners.
- Availability for weekend events as needed.
- Familiarity with Arizona's public health landscape is preferred.
