SAP Specialist

Job Overview

The SAP Specialist plays a crucial role in managing various SAP-related functions. This includes the creation and upload of LSMWs, collaborating with business units to ascertain requirements, and engaging in third-party integrations and implementations. The individual will be an integral part of the global SAP team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with different business areas to thoroughly understand and articulate SAP system requirements, providing recommendations for effective business solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members within the IS group and across departments to facilitate the implementation of new systems or modifications.
  • Develop and load LSMW files efficiently.
  • Design and execute SAP programs that align with organizational needs.
  • Conduct testing of system modifications to ensure successful integration.
  • Assist in ERP project implementations or enhancements.
  • Design, develop, debug, and modify ABAP programs and other SAP components to support both smaller and larger projects.
  • Provide ongoing support for SAP systems and programming.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as new initiatives arise.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

Essential Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to develop efficient and effective programs and systems.
  • Proficient in ABAP programming language for development tasks.
  • Experience with SAPScript and SAP SmartForms for programming and layout.
  • Familiarity with LSMW usage.
  • Knowledge of SAP development tools, debugging methods, and performance optimization.
  • Understanding of SQL, table design, and SAP table structures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with business users and define system requirements.
  • Adept at adjusting communication styles to suit the comprehension levels of various users.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and effectively communicate system requirements and timelines.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and modifying programs and processes for both small and large projects.
  • Capability to assist business users in identifying problems and understanding the root causes of system issues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing timelines.
  • U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP ABAP development (SAP R/3 ECC 6.0) is preferred.
  • Experience in a HANA S/4 environment is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with SAP SmartForms and SAPScript.
  • Familiarity with SAP development tools, debugging techniques, and performance tuning.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to operate standard office equipment; visual acuity for detail-oriented tasks; capacity to sit at a desk or computer for extended periods; work in an office environment.
