Job Summary

The Project Engineer Bridge will be responsible for delivering complex engineering design tasks, collaborating with design staff, managers, and mentors, and ensuring project delivery on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute engineering tasks, including report preparation, investigatory studies, engineering design calculations, and detailing of structural elements.
  • Work on projects involving bridge design, retaining walls, box culverts, and other transportation-related structures.
  • Translate design criteria and standard details into completed designs.
  • Prepare designs in compliance with company design procedures, client standards, and code requirements.
  • Assist Project Managers with contract development, including technical scope of services and cost proposal derivation.
  • Clarify project design issues, proceed with projects, and maintain frequent communication with project team members.
  • Mentor younger staff and serve as Task Leader, monitoring budget and schedule compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 6-10 years of progressive technical experience, with a focus on bridge design and transportation engineering.
  • P.E. certification required.
  • Prior experience in consulting engineering or construction industry, with PennDOT experience preferred.
  • Ability to take responsibility for technical work content, proficient verbal and written communication skills, and self-motivation.
