Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Healogics. As a key member of our wound care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients with chronic wounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Certification Duties: Receive referrals on new patients, verify patient coverage, and communicate with primary care providers and insurance companies to obtain authorization for initial visits.
  • Assist with Patient Intake and Discharge: Collect, record, and report vital signs, temperature, pulse, and respiration (TPR), blood pressure, and blood sugar readings.
  • Wound Care and Hyperbaric Therapy: Assist with wound photography and measurement, track observed responses to treatment, and record care given as observed responses to treatment.
  • Clinical Duties: Gather information for intake and discharge, explain treatment procedures to patients, prepare patients for examination, and assist with laboratory specimen collection and preparation.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) and completion of a Medical Assistant program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
  • Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
  • Experience: Six (6) or more months of related experience in an acute hospital, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment
Work Environment

This position is primarily indoors and involves working in a patient care environment with exposure to hazards, mechanical equipment, and proximity to moving objects.
