Job Overview

The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in leveraging engineering principles to design essential infrastructure for various projects, including municipal, commercial, and residential developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate detailed civil site drawings such as site plans, grading plans, demolition plans, utility plans, drainage plans, and erosion control plans.
  • Evaluate design alternatives while considering limitations like typical sections, alignments, right-of-way needs, and cost implications.
  • Conduct necessary calculations, including stormwater and hydraulic calculations, and develop specifications for comprehensive construction drawing sets.
  • Utilize computer-aided design software and tools to create relevant engineering documents.
  • Prepare conceptual layouts and ensure compliance with local ordinances.
  • Review planning, zoning, and building permit requirements.
  • Gather and complete necessary permit documentation.
  • Sign and seal engineering drawings as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design techniques.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with clients and public agencies.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD-Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions

  • May need to position oneself around equipment and utilities.
