Job Summary

As a Physical Therapist at Spaulding Hospital North Shore, you will provide high-quality physical therapy services to patients with impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans, educate patients and families, and manage technical, environmental, and financial resources efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate physical therapy needs according to organizational and professional guidelines.
  • Develop treatment plans that reflect an understanding of patients' age and situation, including discharge plans.
  • Revise treatment plans based on patient progress towards stated goals.
  • Ensure complete, timely, and accurate documentation in accordance with facility and practice guidelines.
  • Orient, train, and mentor therapy and health care students to achieve stated performance expectations.
  • Identify and act upon performance improvement opportunities to implement best practices.
  • Complete additional department, organization, or network activities as established.
  • Uphold the PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Experience:


  • A minimum of 2 years of experience for Advanced Clinician.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience for Clinical Specialist.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience for Advanced Clinical Specialist.

Licensure:
  • Licensed (and in good standing) as a physical therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Skills:


  • BLS required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic skills in math and computer science.
  • Appropriate knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
  • Effective problem-solving skills for physical therapy evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning, and execution.
  • Basic skills in teaching others and self-assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
  • Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients.
  • Computer proficiency required, with Microsoft Office applications preferred and ability to learn new software.
  • Maintain a variable work schedule depending on hospital/program needs to provide patient care.

  • Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and contribute as a member of a team.
  • Anticipate challenges and develop strategies for addressing them.
  • High level of service delivery.
  • Attention to detail.
