Job Summary

Family & Community Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometric Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our optometrists and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Conduct exam pretesting procedures and prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations.
  • Assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care, including adjusting and taking measurements for glasses and verifying powers of glasses.
  • Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage medical supply inventory, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to all patients, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; two years of optometric assisting experience preferred.
  • CPO Certification preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
