Position Summary:
Support the Housekeeping Department by ensuring that room attendants have adequate linen supplies in their designated areas.
The Housekeeping Attendant will also contribute to the cleanliness of the hotel facilities and perform tasks as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Assistant Director of Housekeeping, and Director of Housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain neat and tidy guest corridors through regular vacuuming and dusting.
- Clean mirrors, furniture, ash urns, elevators, and doors as needed.
- Manage the inventory and cleanliness of all linen closets and ensure trash is emptied regularly.
- Assist housekeepers as required, including resupplying guest room amenities in linen closets and armoires on a daily basis.
- Deliver and collect guest-requested items, such as irons and ironing boards, and provide cribs and rollaway beds as needed.
- Support housekeepers by removing trash and soiled linens from guest rooms.
- Transport linen from the laundry to the respective floors, including armoires, as necessary.
- Spot clean furniture and carpets as instructed.
- Ensure stairwells and service elevator areas are kept clean through sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
- Assist in moving beds and furniture upon request.
- Provide assistance to guests when needed.
- Report any maintenance issues to the housekeeping team.
- Help with bed skirt placement, mattress flipping, and handling drapes as required.
- Utilize and maintain all equipment and supplies properly.
- Respond appropriately to any hotel emergencies or safety situations.
- Complete any additional projects assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Housekeeping.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to demonstrate their capability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Previous experience in a hotel environment is preferred.- Adherence to occupational safety and health practices, including the use of personal protective equipment when necessary.
