Dietetic Technician

The Dietetic Technician provides support to the Food Service department, ensuring the smooth operation of the diet office. This role involves working as a Dining Service operator, handling patient and guest food orders, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Process patient and guest food orders in the Dining Service computer
- Complete diet changes and collect, post, and calculate calorie counts
- Cost out food-to-floor orders and post costs into the computer program
- Process physician lunch orders and keep the nourishment cardex updated
- Assist in training new diet techs and deliver patient/guest trays as needed
- Food Handler Certification required within 30 days
- Knowledge of nutrition and/or modified diets preferred
- Ability to read and understand written instructions, numerical ability, and ability to work with other people
The Dietetic Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patients, guests, and other hospital staff. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a team setting.
