Job Summary
As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing routine, standardized nursing care for patients under the supervision of the physician. Your expertise will be essential in assisting physicians with examinations, procedures, and other activities related to direct patient care.Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Coordinate patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consults, referrals, and admission to hospital.
- Monitor and maintain stock of medical supplies and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
- Document patient's vital statistics and other encounter data into patient chart, ensuring all required records are up-to-date.
- Obtain brief medical history and chief complaint from patients, providing empathetic and compassionate care.
- Call in prescriptions for patients according to physician order, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through patient education, empowering patients to take control of their health.
- Prepare exam rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Receive and return clinically related telephone calls, screening and forwarding those requiring physician action.
- Complete medical/physical history forms and other related information for insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Inform physicians of changes in schedule, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Requirements
Completion of a LPN program recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing.
No experience required.
Required Licensure/Registrations/Certifications
Licensed to practice as a LPN in South Carolina.
