Position Overview:
The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is seeking a dedicated Lab/Clinical Nursing Educator specializing in Medical/Surgical nursing. This role involves both direct and indirect contributions to the clinical instruction and assessment of nursing students, utilizing contemporary teaching strategies and technologies that align with advancements in the nursing field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance theoretical knowledge by delivering practical instruction in clinical and laboratory settings.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to assess and document student progress towards clinical and laboratory objectives.
- Engage in the evaluation of written assignments and clinical performance assessments.
- Maintain open communication with program faculty and participate in faculty meetings.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and developments in nursing practice.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards for the nursing program.
- Promote the holistic principles of nursing and uphold the university's core values.
- Travel to clinical sites to observe and evaluate student performance directly.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in medical/surgical nursing is essential.
- Must possess an active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license.
- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
- Demonstrated involvement in professional nursing organizations, research, or publications is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students and clinical preceptors.
