The Role

We are seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our kitchen operations. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work well under pressure will be essential in maintaining the high standards of our culinary program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and portion a variety of ingredients for cooking, including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items.
  • Understand and consistently apply our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area, including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saut burners, convection oven, flat top range, refrigeration equipment, and adhere to all DHEC regulations for cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Refer to the Daily Prep List for each shift and complete opening and closing checklists, and promptly report equipment, food quality problems, or product shortages to the Chef.
Requirements for Success
  • A minimum of one year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
  • A positive energy and a willingness to assist fellow support staff and work as a team player.
  • The ability to speak, read, and understand basic cooking directions.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with managers, employees, and guests.
  • A flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Constant standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting.
