About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a pivotal role in the financial management of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Controller in all areas of finance and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, payroll processing, and tax preparation.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies.
- Participate in the development and support of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Participate in the preparation of financial forecasts and report variances.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
