Santa Clara University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Health Psychology to join our esteemed faculty. As a key member of our Counseling Psychology Department, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of health psychologists and contributing to the advancement of our field.
Responsibilities- Teaching: You will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in health psychology, including positive psychology and health, health psychology theory and practice, stress and stress management, and biological bases of behavior. You will also have the opportunity to develop and teach advanced electives in your area of expertise.
- Research: As a tenure-track faculty member, you will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and publish high-quality scholarship in top-tier journals. Your research should focus on clinically relevant topics in health psychology or community mental health.
- Service: You will be expected to contribute to departmental, school, and university service and leadership, including committee work, advising students, and participating in faculty governance.
- An earned doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Community Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or equivalent.
- A successful history of and plan for future published research.
- A strong commitment to teaching and mentoring graduate students, particularly those from underrepresented groups.
- Preference will be given to candidates with licensed or license-eligible status as a Psychologist, LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW, as well as prior experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
