Job Overview

The Head Chef is the primary culinary leader responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations at the facility.

Key Responsibilities

- Trains and manages kitchen staff

- Coordinates all culinary activities and operations

- Estimates food requirements and orders necessary supplies

- Develops and standardizes recipes to maintain consistent quality

- Establishes presentation techniques and quality benchmarks, and designs menus

- Ensures proper maintenance and operation of kitchen equipment, while upholding safety and sanitation standards

- Manages special catering events and may provide culinary training or demonstrations

Qualifications

- Minimum of 2-3 years in a similar role

- At least 2-3 years of post-secondary education, ideally with a culinary degree

- Advanced understanding of food service principles and practices

- Practical experience in managing personnel and resolving issues

- Strong verbal, reading, and written communication skills
