Telecommunications Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team at TEKsystems. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining telecommunications systems, including cabling, network termination, and security systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and terminate cabling, including Cat6 and Cat5
• Configure and test network equipment
• Install and maintain security systems, including alarms and access control
• Work with commercial customers, including new construction and existing sites
• Collaborate with shift managers to assign job duties

Requirements:

• Experience with power tools and hand tools
• Knowledge of cabling and network systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel to job sites, including occasional out-of-town assignments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with security systems, including Honeywell, DSC, and DMP
• Knowledge of CCTV systems, including Avigilon and Speako
• Experience with fire alarm systems, including Notifier and Firelite

Work Environment:

As a Telecommunications Technician, you will spend most of your time on job sites, working with commercial customers. You will also spend time in the office, meeting with shift managers and collaborating with colleagues. You will be required to travel to job sites, including occasional out-of-town assignments.
