Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team at BELFOR Franchise Group. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for providing operational support in reconstruction efforts for clients. You will oversee multiple projects, train lesser skilled carpenters, and work as a key member of our CAT Team on large-scale commercial reconstruction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify potential project issues and request guidance and assistance in a timely manner
  • Train Carpenter Basic and Intermediate level team members in all aspects of their job descriptions
  • Provide expert advice on project-related matters and direct more complex questions to the appropriate resource
  • Implement effective containment measures for construction dust, dirt, and airborne contaminants in the working area
  • Construct metal-framed walls, acoustical ceilings, and repair/replace roofing as required
  • Utilize appropriate tools and accepted BELFOR methods to perform tasks related to flood cutting, salvaging, and labeling baseboards, cabinets, doors, etc.
  • Develop expertise in identifying insulation types, thickness, and R-values
  • Apply learned skills and materials knowledge to daily tasks, including trim, doors, cabinetry, insulation, rough framing, acoustical ceilings, roofing materials, and exterior siding
  • Conduct daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain vehicles in clean, serviceable condition
  • Maintain attention to detail and adhere to BELFOR standards for safeguarding clients' property
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices
  • Work under time constraints to meet specific project timelines
  • Be available to work nights, weekends, and travel periodically
  • Accurately report time worked and equipment/consumables used
  • Attend BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise unskilled labor, Basic and Intermediate Level BELFOR employees, and occasional subcontractors in residential, commercial, multi-family, industrial, and institutional settings, as well as high-risk/high-exposure or complex projects
  • Provide expert advice on project-related matters and direct more complex questions to the appropriate resource
  • Maintain equipment used in daily tasks
  • Perform emergency services as needed, including board-ups and securing buildings against further damage
  • Perform additional duties as required
