Rehabilitation Counselor Trainee

The Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) is seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Home Services Counselor Trainee. This role involves coordinating customer case records and documents in a field office, providing services to individuals with disabilities to remain independent in their home and community.

As a key member of our team, you will receive formal and informal training not to exceed twelve months to learn the rules, regulations, and policies of the Home Services Program. You will be responsible for:

• Serving as a Home Services Program (HSP) Counselor Trainee, receiving on-the-job training to learn the rules, federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures for provision of services to individuals under the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Waiver, Brain Injury (BI) Waiver and/or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) Waiver at risk of nursing home placement.
• Studying and becoming proficient in utilizing the Division's case management system.
• Attending and participating in staff meetings, conferences, workshops, and in-service training related to the discipline of rehabilitation counseling and the home services program.
