As a Fisheries Observer, you will have the unique opportunity to work on commercial fishing vessels and contribute to the collection of data and biological samples. Your efforts will help inform fisheries management decisions and support the conservation of marine species.
Our team of experienced professionals will provide you with comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in this challenging and rewarding role. You will learn about sampling protocols, gear, fisheries, fish identification, and safety procedures.
We offer a competitive salary package, including hourly pay, travel reimbursement, and per diem compensation. Our benefits package includes health and dental insurance, vacation, sick and holiday benefits. We also offer opportunities for advancement and professional development.
To be eligible for this position, you must possess a bachelor's degree in Marine Biology or Biology from an accredited college or university, with 30 credits of biology coursework and 6 credits of marine science. At least one undergraduate course in math or statistics is also required. You must be physically able to perform biologist duties, as determined by a licensed physician's certification.
