Job Summary:

Star Construction is seeking a skilled Laborer to join our Telecom Aerial team. As a Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the installation and repair of aerial telecommunications cable, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards required by our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to technicians, including providing parts as needed and moving bucket trucks as directed.
  • Ensure that door-tagging and resident notification of construction activities has been completed prior to starting each workday.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment, documenting all activities.
  • Drive company vehicles as needed to job sites.
  • Operate construction equipment and maintain work areas.
  • Communicate clearly with all team members.
  • Complete daily production reports.
  • Assist with site restoration efforts.
  • Work in all weather conditions.

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have authorization to work in the United States for this company.
  • Hold a valid standard Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience or a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Have 1 to 2 years of prior aerial experience, preferably in telecommunications.
  • Have 1 or more years of unskilled labor experience in telecommunications, which is a plus.
  • Knowledge of installation of aerial and underground cables and/or support members in conformance with all applicable codes, regulations, and customer specifications (NEC Electrical Code, System and/or City Specifications).
  • Be a certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber.

Physical Abilities and Exposures:

  • Routinely: Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
  • Occasionally: Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.

Salary Range: $14.00-$21.00 / hr (based on experience)
