Job Summary

The Atlanta Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing prevention strategies, assessment, and remediation services for students with disabilities who exhibit difficulties in the areas of language, speech, voice, and fluency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct speech-language screenings for students with suspected disabilities.
  • Administer formal and informal assessments to determine eligibility for special education and the effects of the student's impairment in regard to accessing the general curriculum and state standards.
  • Analyze and interpret information to make recommendations regarding speech-language services.
  • Plan and implement evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers in the management of speech-language services.
  • Provide consultative services to teachers, parents, administrators, and allied agencies to integrate speech-language goals into the classroom, other educational programs, and the home environment.
  • Assure placement of students in the speech-language program and develop and implement speech-language goals/objectives on individualized education plans according to established due process procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate (T4-T7).
  • Valid Driver's License (must be able to visit multiple worksites).
Compensation

The Atlanta Public Schools offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including APS Salary Schedules and a $2,000 supplement for individuals holding a T/L 7 certificate.
