Job Summary

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse/LVN in our Cardiology Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care to our patients. You will work closely with our Providers and Staff to provide a rewarding and educational environment.

Responsibilities

* Deliver care to patients utilizing the LVN Process
* Triage patient calls and communicate with the provider
* Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families
* Perform specific nursing care as it relates to cardiology
* Collect patient data such as vital signs, notes how the patient looks and acts or responds to stimuli and reports this information accordingly
* Prepare patient records and files using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices
* Administer certain prescribed medications and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response

Requirements

* High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
* LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse (required)
* Accredited School of Practical Nursing Program (required)
* BCLS (strongly preferred)
* Knowledge of basic nursing processes and understanding of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies
* Knowledge of state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
* Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
* Demonstrate sound judgment and composure
* Ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
* Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards staff and patients
* Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
* Efficient time management skills
