Position Overview:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is integral to the administration of anesthesia and related services, with a focus on patient safety and comfort throughout surgical procedures. This position requires ongoing evaluation of clinical competencies and adherence to established guidelines. Responsibilities may be updated periodically to reflect advancements in medical practices.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Anesthesia Evaluation: Perform thorough assessments of patients prior to anesthesia administration.
  • Anesthesia Delivery: Administer general anesthesia and necessary adjunct medications. Execute regional anesthesia techniques and sedation protocols.
  • Clinical Oversight: Manage cardiopulmonary resuscitation and airway support. Monitor patients using various equipment and provide mechanical ventilation and oxygen therapy as needed.
  • Procedural Assistance: Insert peripheral intravenous and arterial lines. Aid in maintaining fluid, electrolyte balance, and acid-base homeostasis during procedures.
  • Post-Anesthesia Management: Deliver acute and chronic pain management following anesthesia. Oversee recovery and discharge processes post-anesthesia.
  • Ongoing Education: Engage in continuous professional development to enhance and maintain clinical expertise.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other relevant tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience: Possess a graduate degree (e.g., M.B.A., M.A.) with at least 5 years of pertinent experience or equivalent education and training.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Hold a current state license as a registered nurse. Eligible for certification, initial certification, or recertification through the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
Technical Skills:
  • Intermediate: Proficient in 10-Key.
  • Basic: Competence in Accounting and Alphanumeric Data Entry.
