Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient medical office setting, utilizing standards of care and practice to guide care delivery.
- Accurately and safely administer medications as ordered, and consult with providers or registered nurses as necessary.
- Obtain medical information from patients, take vital signs, and record data in patient medical records.
- Work closely with office assistants and physicians to facilitate patient clinic visits, ensuring patient charts are available and escorting patients to and from exam rooms.
- Participate in problem-solving and decision-making in the outpatient unit, ensuring staffing and patient needs are met.
- Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Practical Nursing or appropriate state board.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
- Ability to work in a standard clinical environment with high patient volume, exposed to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, toxins, and chemicals.
This position requires heavy/hard work, with strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, positioning of patients, standing, walking, and carrying of patients, materials, and equipment weighing 40+lbs.
