We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Service Manager to join our team at Federal Express Corporation. Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Supervision: Establish performance expectations and manage to those expectations for a team of maintenance technicians.
- Department Management: Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the department.
- Compliance and Quality: Ensure compliance with FedEx standards and address variances and other budget concerns.
- Communication and Training: Communicate the level of quality and safety expected in the performance of maintenance tasks.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in sortation electrical and mechanical systems.
- Quality Audits: Complete quality audits of technician work tasks and communicate results.
- Process Improvement: Identify and propose improvements to the material handling system.
- Vendor Management: Acquire bids from vendors and suppliers, including maintenance, repair, and improvement vendors.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in light industrial such as electrical, mechanical engineering technology, logistics management, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Two (2) years industrial maintenance experience required, plus six (6) years of combined industrial maintenance and/or people management experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Preferred experience includes leading project teams, supervising lower-level employees, and experience with mechanical power transmission and/or electrical power or machine controls.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Presentation Skills: Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions.
- Time Management: Time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate and identify problems and develop effective solutions.
- Team Leadership: Ability to motivate a team to perform at the highest level.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical and electrical design, layout, fabrication, and repair practices.
- Electrical and Mechanical Knowledge: Knowledge of motors and motor control methods.
- Troubleshooting: Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Computer Controls: Knowledge of PLC and computer controls systems.
This is a 2/2/3 rotation schedule with a 3-day weekend every other weekend.
